About Me

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and have been working with individuals and couples in both Canada and Hong Kong since 2018. Over the years, I have supported people in private practice, as well as individuals navigating physical and mental health challenges within non-profit organizations and healthcare settings.

Many of the individuals I work with experience persistent stress, emotional difficulties, or the impact of chronic health conditions. Through this work, I have come to understand how factors such as demanding life circumstances, early life experiences, and past trauma can shape how we relate to ourselves and others. I have also worked with couples who feel stuck in recurring conflicts, often influenced by differences in upbringing, expectations, and ways of connecting.

My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive space where you can explore your experiences, find your voice, and begin to move through the barriers that may be keeping you stuck. We can work toward strengthening your relationships and building a more connected and meaningful life.

In addition to counselling, I also take on the role of educator and system navigator, supporting collaboration among healthcare providers and other professionals so that clients can access the care they need.

Why Loneliness Hub?

Since the beginning of my career, I have worked with uncountable numbers of individuals and couples who feel lonely and disconnected from the people around them.

I am trained in Attachment Theory. You may have heard the term “secure/insecure attachment style” which was developed by the theory. I have come to understand that as human beings, we are wired for connection.

As John Bowlby (who developed attachment theory) described, our need for meaningful emotional bonds is a fundamental part of who we are. When these connections feel strained, distant, or uncertain, it can lead to feelings of loneliness, even when we are surrounded by others.

“Loneliness Hub” reflects a space where these experiences can be understood with care and without judgment. It is a place to explore the roots of disconnection, and to begin building more secure and meaningful connections with others and within yourself.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is rooted in humanistic, experiential, attachment-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed practices. I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as my primary treatment model while also integrating elements of other modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy (NT), that suit your needs. Simply put, I see you as a whole person with strengths and autonomy, and I work collaboratively with you to create transformative in-session experiences that lead to positive change. My goal is to provide a safe, non-pathologizing environment where your needs, readiness, and autonomy are respected.

In therapy, we may work on:

  • Making sense of your responses—behaviors, emotions, and thoughts
  • Identifying and breaking free from negative coping cycles
  • Regulating intense emotions
  • Regaining a sense of control when life feels overwhelming
  • Cultivating self-compassion
  • Realigning your life with your goals and values
  • Strengthening your relationships with yourself and others

The World I See

In my leisure time, I enjoy walking with my camera, capturing moments of nature, memory, and quiet beauty. In a world that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming, these small moments help me slow down and reconnect. I invite you to take a moment to explore these images, if they may offer you a sense of calm and stillness.
